Excited

all man baby
Since taking my Spanish Literature class in high school, I was left with a deep void to fill with my culture's literature. Ms.Palacios really opened my eyes to see that Latin American writers are really some of the most amazing writers that exist on this earth. As a result, maybe from feeling a bit on the downside after losing yesterday(MADRID PORQUE?), I decided to buy 3 books that have been on my mind for a while. I couldn't find La Ciudad y Los Perros which made me sad, but after going to Borders so many times I finally found the book I was looking for! Rayuela! In the end after looking and looking for so long I decided to get these three books in the end. I'm making my parents read one of each:
Rayuela- Julio Cortazar(Me)
Malinche-Laura Esquivel(Mom)
Cien Años de   Soldedad- Gabriel Garcia Marquez(Dad)
I'm really excited to start reading thse books. But first I must finish reading Borderlands:La Frontera by Gloria Anzaldua.
Happy Monday!

This is the new video of Alejandro's single "Looking for Paradise" with Alicia Keys. May I say that this is the best of the best combined in one. Alejandro is such a great artist and to have done this makes me love him even more. He had this youtube thing going on where he was asking everyone to post up a video of what they think is paradise to them. He would choose 30 videos to make them into his music video. Man, the videos were so touching. I loved it all! If you don't know who Alejandro Sanz is, he is the man that did the duet with Shakira in her "La Tortura" song and video.

In Regards to life.

Man oh man, can life get any more boring. I think it can. Somehow it has, and somehow I like this loneliness. All I need right now is myself, my ambitions and the things that make me happy and quite frankly entertain me.

Eeeek, not for the weak hearted [ a rant] )

Water Polo again &nd other stuff.

So I made the team and our first game is on Monday!
I'm really exicted, but I'm afraid that I'm going to cause the team to do not so good, I still have a difficulty understanding the game, as well as trying to eggbeater, my legs just don't want to do it!I feel really intimidated by the coaches and the strictness too! I've never had to be so strict with my body before, not even in swimming. Even though practice is a killer,  it's all good since, I'm going to have a kickass body after this, hopefully. Sho motivates me because I want my stomach to look like his[ well I know it won't be that amazing!] so I can show off my belly button ring, that was inspired by him as well XD

See Sho's belly button ring! )

I know not many of you might know this, but in my state of California 4 fires have already broke out in my region. 2 of them where in a city near me and the smoke was really bad for me and my asthma. There is ashes all over the place, and many people have lost their homes. Two of the four fires are arsen which makes me really, really mad, because they have caused so much suffering to people, hopefully the other two were natural causes[which I highly doubt] and that many people can be able to get up once again. One of our teacher's house burned down :[

Day Of The Dead!

  • Nov. 2nd, 2008 at 1:08 PM
all man baby

Today is the last day of El Dia de Los Muertos, or like my title says Day of the Dead.

As many of you might know, I am Latina, Salvadorean to be exact, and we celebrate this day to honor those who have passed away onto the other life. We believe that on this day the souls of our loved ones return to Earth for 2 days, November 1st and the 2nd. This is a day where you go to a loved ones grave, fix it all up, make it pretty for them, and finally bring your offering to them.{wether it's flowers, or food!} Drinks are always something to offer the dead, especially beer, some people tend to open a beer for their loved ones and they drink along side them, having a conversation and such things like that. It's very different from many other cultures who tend to mourn their dead, we decide to celebrate their lives, with a huge festival. It's a really fun day.

Don't be intimidate by the skull, it's just a cultural thing for us :]

Water polo.

  • Oct. 30th, 2008 at 6:00 PM
ohmiya
Today I tried out for the Water Polo team, and it was the most amazing yet exhausting sport I have ever done. It really does beat swimming, in a way. I tried eggbeating and I failed miserably. When they passed the ball to me I wasn't able to catch it, and that made me angry. And when I tried hitting it, it just wasn't working out, and the goalie would get it really fast! I am so clumsy, the coach told me to egg beat at home so I get the hang of it, I really do hope i make the team, so then I'll be swimming and doing water polo this year. I'm really excited for it, even though it might mean that I am ready to die from being tired and all that nonsense!

Anyone else does Water Polo? Or sports by any chance?

Barack Obama.

all man baby
I just finished watching the 30 minute program regarding Barack Obama. That was the most inspiring thing I've ever seen. I really do hope that Barack gets elected for president, we do need change. I am really happy that this happening, having such a down to earth candidate running for the presidency. I really encourage everyone if they did not see the 30 minute broadcast to go watch it. The final live speech was really moving, I almost cried. I could really relate to it, in many different ways!

Obama '08!

What do you think?

Happy for her

  • Jan. 23rd, 2008 at 6:38 PM
ichiban foo.
Today my mom got her form!
She will now be able to make her dream come true!

Oh and by the way here in Sunny California,we are having RAIN! Finally!
Even though it's freeeeeeeeeeeezing cold I'm happy that we are having rain finally. It's good for us.

Although swimming is not going well,I'm happy that today I was able to complete the set without falling behind, and that I was able to lead our lane during the agonizing 200yard set. Coach knows how much I stink at long distance, and still I prevailed!
